The Victory of an Acne Veteran

For years, I hid behind makeup, afraid of my blemished skin. But a photo shoot became a turning point, leading me to embrace self-love and natural, sustainable care.

The Victory of an Acne Veteran

Look at me, about 10 years ago. My very first business photo shoot. Nerves were racing through my body, but the presence of my best friend brought me peace. Her encouraging words and genuine laughter were contagious, allowing me to set aside my fear and look straight into the camera. It was a confrontation with myself, a victory over my deep-seated insecurities.

For decades, I had hidden my face behind layers of makeup, afraid of judgments about my blemished skin. And frankly... also afraid of my own reflection. I hated it!

On the day of this photo shoot, I decided to show my true self, without a mask, without shame. The photographer nodded encouragingly, and with a deep breath, I embraced vulnerability. The clicking of the camera captured my liberated laugh, an echo of renewed self-confidence. My skin isn't perfect, but it's healthier than ever. I stood there, not naked in the literal sense, but figuratively, stripped of the layers that once protected me from the outside world.

This was more than a photo shoot; it was a victory over my inner dragons. After years of struggle, I had finally made peace with my skin. The natural, loving care with which I treated my skin bore fruit. Not only was my skin clearer, but I had also learned to embrace the imperfections as part of who I am.

This photo shoot marked a turning point. It solidified my belief in holistic care. Not just for my own skin, but for everyone. This was the moment when my mission became clear to me. My mission to make cosmetics truly revolve around care again. Care that does not harm skin, humans, animals, or the environment. Loving, sustainable care.
